SQUIDGY CHOCOLATE BROWNIES

Chocolate Brownie

Chocolaty treats ideal for sharing!

Ingredients Quantity
Butter, cut into 1cm pieces 100g
Good quality dark chocolate, chopped 200g
Large eggs 4
WHITWORTHS DARK SOFT BROWN SUGAR 150g
WHITWORTHS CASTER SUGAR 100g
Self-raising flour 100g
Baking powder 1 tsp
Cocoa powder 30g
Pecan nuts, chopped 75g

PREPARATION METHOD

Preheat the oven to 180°C / Gas Mark 4. Line a 22cm square shallow tray with baking paper. Melt butter and chocolate in a bowl set over a pan of simmering water. Allow to cool.

Whisk eggs and sugars together until light and fluffy.  Add chocolate mixture, stir well and sift flour, baking powder and cocoa into the bowl. Add nuts. Mix to combine and pour into the prepared tray. Bake 25-30 minutes until the top is cracked and the middle is just set. Cool completely and lift out of the tray.

TOP TIPS

Why not decorate the brownies with a drizzle of melted white chocolate?

Store the brownies in an airtight container for up to 3 days and they will be even more moist and chocolaty!
