Squidgy chocolate brownies

Chocolaty treats ideal for sharing!

Ingredients

100g butter, cut into 1cm pieces
200g good quality dark chocolate, chopped
4 large eggs
150g WHITWORTHS DARK SOFT BROWN SUGAR
100g WHITWORTHS FINE CASTER SUGAR
100g self-raising flour
1 tsp baking powder
30g cocoa powder
75g pecan nuts, chopped
  WHITWORTHS TWIST AND SPRINKLE ICING SUGAR for dusting

Preparation method

Preheat the oven to 180°C / Gas Mark 4. Line a 22cm square shallow tray with baking paper. Melt butter and chocolate in a bowl set over a pan of simmering water. Allow to cool.

Whisk eggs and sugars together until light and fluffy.  Add chocolate mixture, stir well and sift flour, baking powder and cocoa into the bowl. Add nuts. Mix to combine and pour into the prepared tray. Bake 25-30 minutes until the top is cracked and the middle is just set. Cool completely, lift out of the tray and dust generously with WHITWORTHS TWIST AND SPRINKLE ICING SUGAR.

Top tips

Why not decorate the brownies with a drizzle of melted white chocolate?

Store the brownies in an airtight container for up to 3 days and they will be even more moist and chocolaty!
